Tariff and subsidy from published orders. How we calculate

Questions people ask

How much does home solar cost in Bangalore?

A typical 3–5 kW rooftop system runs roughly ₹1.8–3 lakh installed before subsidy, depending on size, mounting and whether you want battery backup. The PM Surya Ghar subsidy returns up to ₹78,000 of that. Our cost breakdown page publishes the full bill of materials so you can see exactly where the money goes.

Is GST included in your prices?

Yes. Every figure on this site is GST-inclusive, which is how we quote — what you see is what you pay. If you are comparing against another quote, check whether theirs is inclusive too; an ex-GST number looks about 9% cheaper for no real reason.

Why does a smaller system cost more per watt?

Site survey, DISCOM liaisoning, transport, design and commissioning cost roughly the same whether the system is 2 kW or 5 kW. Spread over fewer watts, those fixed costs raise the per-watt price. It is the honest reason a 2 kW system is not two-thirds the price of a 3 kW one.

Can I get a loan for rooftop solar?

Yes. Under PM Surya Ghar, systems up to 3 kW qualify for a collateral-free loan at a concessional rate through participating banks, currently around 9.5%. Larger systems are financed at ordinary retail rates, and several lenders treat rooftop solar as a secured home-improvement loan.

What is the cheapest line to cut, and should I?

Mounting structure and protection equipment are where corners get cut most often, because neither shows up in the first year. An undersized structure fails in a storm and takes the panels with it; inadequate surge protection turns a fault into a fire. The modules and inverter are visible on any quote, so they are rarely where the saving comes from.
